IAN NELMES – scenic artist (born Gloucester, England 1960)
A word from the artist:
A veil rests over a lake of glass.
Midday alights a blaze of colour from the shoreline beyond.
The full moon hints at shapes within an inky blanket.
. . .
The vista through a single window displays an endless parade
of candy to the eye and nourishment for the soul.
. . .
My work is a reflection of timeless nature around us
and the infinite colours and textures it displays.
I am provided a constant, ever changing source of raw material
with which to build statements of personal vision.
My whole life I have spent painting and drawing
and have been watching the changing landscape
for as long as I can remember.
